Yahoo! Go now runs on over 330 phones worldwide, including many Windows Mobile Devices. You can download the free software at http://mobile.yahoo.com/go.
T-Mobile Introduces web2go and Partnership with Yahoo oneSearch

Yahoo! oneSearch powers mobile Internet searches made through T-Mobile web2go, available starting today on T-Mobile phones. Providing customers with access to the latest news, information and content, Yahoo! oneSearch intuitively returns search results grouped around the person’s intent. For instance, when customers search for a sports team, Yahoo! returns the latest scores, schedules, team profiles, roster, news, images and a link to the team’s Web site. Alternatively, if a user searches for a movie, Yahoo! returns show times at local theatres, reviews, news articles and information on the cast.
Yahoo! oneSearch will also display relevant ringtones, wallpaper, games and other content available in the T-Mobile store within search results, eliminating the need for customers to search within a separate window for downloadable content.
Web2go is available today across the majority of new T-Mobile phones, including most Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and BlackBerry handsets. This enhancement is automatic for T-Mobile customers with compatible phones. T-Mobile plans to make web2go available on nearly all new T-Mobile phones over the coming months.

Yahoo! Go 3 Beta for Windows Mobile Released

Yahoo is jumping into the Windows Mobile platform with vigour, and has just released their new Yahoo! Go 3.0 beta for Windows Mobile, mobile phones.
The application’s user interface has undergone a overhaul and there is now full support for widgets aimed at providing information on the go. There is now an integrated at-a-glance Yahoo screen and improved oneSearch feature along with a comely Web 2.0-like feel and navigation to the application. Yahoo! oneSearch 2.0 Allows Text and Voice Search

By enabling publishers to integrate relevant content into the Yahoo! oneSearch results, it is more likely that consumers will be able to find exactly what they’re looking for. For example, whereas today’s search results for “Italian restaurants” includes information such as addresses and phone numbers, open results could also include information from restaurant booking companies displaying the number of available reservations. Or, as another example, search results for “London” might provide transit schedules from public transit providers such as upcoming arrival and departure information.
Open search results are expected to debut with initial partners in Q2 2008.
Yahoo! oneSearch will also inclue a Search Assist which is made to ease your text input. Search Assist will predict your text and as you begin to type, Search Assist surfaces the most common search queries in real time that match the letters you have submitted so far. At launch, Search Assist is available for the iPhone and is expected to become available on additional AJAX-compatible devices over the coming months.
Yahoo! is partnering with vlingo to enable voice-enabled version of Yahoo! oneSearch, consumers can search for anything, including flight numbers, locations, Web site names, local restaurants, by simply speaking. While using voice as an input, you can also complete the text input via the keyboard at any time.
Available beginning today for select Blackberry devices including the 8800 series, Curve, and Pearl in the United States, the new voice-enabled Yahoo! oneSearch can be downloaded from http://m.yahoo.com/voice.

Yahoo! Announces Yahoo! onePlace Mobile Content Management
Yahoo! onePlace will bring together a consumer's interests and important information into a single location. Everything is instantly organized, dynamically kept current, and served to them the way they want.

For example, if a user is planning a holiday to Paris in June, he could create a "Paris" collection, and begin linking it to any information he thinks will be useful to him on his trip: weather conditions, city guides, restaurant reviews, hotel reservations, walking maps, songs of Edith Piaf, English-French dictionaries, winery recommendations, etc.
ahoo! onePlace will give consumers a single location to consume all of their information contextually, keeping it updated (so they know, for example, if their flight times have changed) and instantly accessible whenever and however they want it.
Yahoo! onePlace is designed to include the following features, which will allow consumers to:
* Centralized and open content management - Centralize and manage all the content they care about, from anywhere on the Internet, accessible from a single location and arranged to best meet their preferences. o Categories - Organize content according to commonly-used subjects (e.g., celebrities, local businesses, sports)
o Pulse - Stream updates relevant to users' content, such as flight status changes, new songs by a favorite music artist, or a restaurant review.
o Favorites - Surface the content a consumer uses most frequently.
o Dynamic updates - See previews for selected sources that are kept fresh throughout the day
o Mobile RSS reader - Use a mobile RSS reader integrated into Yahoo! onePlace

LAS VEGAS, (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) today announced the launch of the all-new Yahoo! Go 3.0, Yahoo!'s flagship all-in-one mobile offering, in early beta at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2008, further solidifying Yahoo!'s leadership position in delivering leading-edge mobile experiences to consumers worldwide. Thanks to the feedback from many of our Yahoo! Go 2.0 users, this new product is designed to deliver more of what consumers want, wherever however and whenever they want it. Yahoo! Go 3.0 takes mobile services to the next level with an upgraded and feature-rich user interface, a truly personalized start page and customizable access to consumers' favorite Internet brands and services through easy-to-use third-party widgets.
Consumers in the U.S. can download Yahoo! Go 3.0 (http://go.yahoo.com) on more than 30 mobile devices from major manufacturers worldwide and use it on most wireless networks. Over the coming months, Yahoo! Go 3.0 is expected to be available on hundreds of devices worldwide, accessible by hundreds of millions of users.
"Today's launch of Yahoo! Go 3.0 is a game-changing mobile development from Yahoo!. This new open environment provides consumers with a highly-compelling user experience and robust, personalized starting point to the mobile Internet. We are providing users with increased control over their experiences as well as increased choice in getting the content and services they want while on the go," said Marco Boerries, executive vice president, Connected Life, Yahoo!. "With our innovative mobile services like Yahoo! Go 3.0 and deep partnerships across the industry, we are focused on making the promise of the mobile Internet a reality for consumers around the world."
UPGRADED DESIGN
Yahoo! Go 3.0 offers an intuitive and rich design that makes efficient use of the phone's small screen and speeds consumers' ability to find the information they need on the mobile Internet. This enhanced experience is both visually stunning and highly functional, enabling consumers to easily navigate Yahoo! Go 3.0 through a choice of two views - either the traditional carousel or the new icon layout.
THE IDEAL STARTING POINT
The new Home widget for Yahoo! Go 3.0 is an innovative gateway for consumers to get where they're going on the mobile Internet. It offers an at-a-glance update of what's new since the last visit; such as how many new e-mails have arrived, upcoming calendar appointments, and new photos posted to Flickr by friends. The Home widget also includes a customizable collection of mobile snippets - previews of the user's favorite Web content - news headlines, weather conditions and more - to keep users updated while on the go. Also, it allows the user to get quickly where they want to go on the mobile Internet via Yahoo! oneSearch.
In related news, Yahoo! introduced a similar home page experience for select mobile browsers visiting http://beta.m.yahoo.com. (see release titled: "Yahoo! Redesigns Mobile Home Page to be the Essential Starting Point for Mobile Consumers" for more information)
GET EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT
For the first time ever, consumers can enjoy their favorite Internet content and services from leading mobile publishers within a single client on their phone. Later this week, consumers will be able to access widgets from eBay, MySpace and MTV by selecting them from the Widget Gallery in Yahoo! Go 3.0. The Widget Gallery will showcase both Yahoo! Mobile Widgets as well as a growing selection of widgets from third-party developers.
With the introduction of third-party mobile widgets, Yahoo! enables developers and publishers to bring their content and creativity to millions of mobile users with ease - thus enhancing users' choice and control over their mobile Internet experience. By satisfying consumer demand for relevant and personalized mobile experiences, Yahoo! Go 3.0 is expected to usher in a dramatic acceleration in the adoption of the mobile Internet.
Additional details on Yahoo!'s Mobile Widget Platform can be found in the accompanying announcement released today. (see release titled: "Yahoo! Mobile Developer Platform to Enable Developers and Publishers to Build Applications with Instant Reach Across Hundreds of Devices" for more information)
Yahoo! Go 3.0 features display advertising from Yahoo!'s major global advertisers. Consumers can interact with these ads through functionality such as clicking to call the advertiser directly or to learn more information about the advertiser's offer.

Yahoo! counters Android with simple web services tools

Mobile Widgets are intended to let third-party developers write Web applications that support mobile phones as clients. The Widgets are written in part in an XML markup type called "Blueprint," apparently a simplified derivative of XForms. Blueprint documents are hosted on the user's own server, and are purely declarative, lacking any application logic. However, users can program logic using standard server-side scripting, Yahoo! suggests.
Mobile Widgets appear to be fairly simple, compared to Google's Android initiative. Android comprises a suite of Java-based Linux applications that run on the phone itself, providing significant potential for client-side processing.
The simplicity of Mobile Widgets enables any browser-enabled phone to use them, Yahoo! said, including phones that support only XHTML (no error correction by the browser). In their simplest form, Widgets enable developers to push simple RSS news feeds out to users, without writing any Blueprint markup at all, the company notes.
One early proponent of Mobile Widgets is Access, which says it is in talks with Yahoo! over adding support to its Access Linux Platform (ALP) software stack and NetFront browser (recently tapped for Amazon's Kindle eBook reader). Phone vendors Motorola and LG, meanwhile, will make support for Mobile Widgets "widely available on multiple devices," Yahoo said. Also supporting the Mobile Widgets launch are third-party Widget providers eBay, MySpace, and MTV.
Yahoo! has promised to release a Mobile Widgets development kit soon. Meanwhile, it has published a developer's guide to Blueprint markup, here (PDF download). More details about Mobile Widgets may be found here.
Yahoo! Mobile Widgets are not to be confused with Opera's Widgets, which let developers use the Opera browser as a development framework for local applications and interfaces.
