T-Mobile sale: 25% off touchscreen and BlackBerry prepay mobiles
T-Mobile is doing another sale on prepay mobiles, this time it’s 25% off all touchscreen and BlackBerry pay as you go phones – and for 48 hours.
The offer begins at 10am on Tuesday September 21st and runs until 10am on Thursday September 23rd.

RIM BlackBerry 'T' (Talladega?) slider launching next month
The first sliding BlackBerry, AKA Tallageda (or T), could be winging its way to shelves as soon as April.
Mobilephone-news has reported that the CEO of a RIM supplier mentioned the BlackBerry T as a device to launch next month.
The claim appeared on joins.com, a Korean website and was translated as:
"The Canadian company RIM famous for BlackBerry smartphones is releasing a new model next month. Known as the "T," The new model is an ambitious product aimed at competing against iPhone's storm of success. RIM will present it ("T") as its flagship model to compete in global markets such as the U.S. and Europe."
This could of course point to another Storm device, rather than the Palm-style slider that everyone is raving about.
There's no information on a precise release date for the BlackBerry Talladega or 'T', or whether it will be available in the UK any time soon.

YouMail App for BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone
One of my dear friends, Rock, suffered a terrible loss the other day. Her sweet elderly Verizon phone suffered a total malfunction and died. It was a sad day. Not just for her, but for those of us who want to contact her. Lacking an adequate equipment replacement program, she has been incommunicado for days. Until YouMail came to save the day.
YouMail was able to recover the voicemails from her lost phone and play them on her iPod. I know, voicemail is a little 2000. But it’ll do in a pinch, or in an emergency.
YouMail also does other things. It will translate your voicemails into texts, which is perfect for people like me who only communicate via textual means, and it will join all your voice messages into one box so that your home, office and cell messages are all available in one place. It also does this really creepy thing: it calls your callers by name when they leave a message. Weird, but I’m sure someone finds this useful.

BlackBerry 9700 spotted
Not too long ago, we received leaked specifications on the BlackBerry 9700. Now, our friends over at CrackBerry seem to have spotted an actual BlackBerry 9700 in the flesh, the very first T-Mobile 3G BlackBerry.
As described by the person who found it, the phone has a “trackpad”, as opposed to a “trackball” we’ve seen in previous models. The color of the model is described as “silver-chrome”. It is also reported to be “sturdy”, hinting that this could possibly be the retail model.

BlackBerry Curve 8520 announced by Airtel for India
Airtel, India’s largest mobile carrier (about 100 million customers) has announced the upcoming availability of RIM’s brand new BlackBerry Curve 8520 (also known as BlackBerry Gemini).
Indian customers will be able to buy the smartphone starting August 7, at the retail price of 15,990 INR (about $336).
The 8520 is the only (for now) BlackBerry Curve to have an optical trackpad instead of RIM’s traditional trackball.

Verizon BlackBerry Storm 9530 Getting An Official Update Sunday?
CrackBerry got official word that Verizon will be releasing OS 4.7.0.148 for the BlackBerry Storm 9530 tomorrow, May 31st! Verizon has additionally mentioned that it will release the update to customers as an over-the-air download starting at 10PM EDT. Verizon has not specified what enhancements and bug fixes the update addresses, only noting that it “improves the overall user experience.”
We can hope this actually happen on May 31 as it would be a major step in the right direction for Verizon and also help take heat off of RIM

Already available in many regions, the BlackBerry Storm has been announced for Hong Kong this week, though pricing and service plan detail are not revealed yet. Skype Coming to BlackBerry Smartphones in May
Skype today announced that the lite version of Skype, a ‘thin’ Skype client for mobile phones, will soon be available as a free download for BlackBerry smartphones. A beta version will be available in May for the BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Curve smartphones, with support for other BlackBerry smartphones coming later.
The lite version of Skype delivers core Skype capabilities to BlackBerry smartphones, including:

The upcoming BlackBerry 9630 Niagara that we've mentioned yesterday has somehow managed to hit eBay. It's $1995 price tag isn't quite "budget", but how much could you expect to pay for an unreleased handset that should only appear in Q3 this year.

Telus BlackBerry 8230 Pearl Flip is Ready for Launch, Now on Website!
The appearance of the BlackBerry 8230 Pearl Flip smartphone on the Telus' website is definitely a good sign for its waiters. The phone is listed as "Coming Soon", but doesn't offer any pricing details. Expected prices are $50 on a 3-year contract, or $449 outright.
In Canada the handset is also available through Best Buy Canada and Bell.

BlackBerry App World
Known as BlackBerry Application Center, RIM has renamed it as BlackBerry App World, which will be available soon with its BlackBerry OS updates. The BlackBerry App World will work with compatible BlackBerry smartphones running OS version 4.2.0 or higher. It will be available for users in US, Canada and UK for the initial release and you must have a paypal account to purchase software from the App World.
