Official Tumblr BlackBerry App Now Available
Tumblr is a pretty popular microblogging platform that many people use on the internet, and the good news is that you can now start using it on your BlackBerry.
With that being said, the official Tumblr application is now available for download and if you’re using the software you already know how easy it is to share anything, be it text, photos, links, music, etc.

BlackBerry Curve 8520 now available, free on Vodaphone qualifying plans
Vodaphone has announced today that the BlackBerry Curve is now available through its mobile service. The phone boasts a 2.0 megapixel camera, WiFi connectivity, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack, and a microSD memory card slot.
The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is available from Vodafone UK for free on two-year contracts that cost £25 per month or more. Vodafone Corporate and Public Sector customers will have the opportunity to purchase it for £185.

BlackBerry 9700 spotted
Not too long ago, we received leaked specifications on the BlackBerry 9700. Now, our friends over at CrackBerry seem to have spotted an actual BlackBerry 9700 in the flesh, the very first T-Mobile 3G BlackBerry.
As described by the person who found it, the phone has a “trackpad”, as opposed to a “trackball” we’ve seen in previous models. The color of the model is described as “silver-chrome”. It is also reported to be “sturdy”, hinting that this could possibly be the retail model.

Verizon BlackBerry Storm 9530 Getting An Official Update Sunday?
CrackBerry got official word that Verizon will be releasing OS 4.7.0.148 for the BlackBerry Storm 9530 tomorrow, May 31st! Verizon has additionally mentioned that it will release the update to customers as an over-the-air download starting at 10PM EDT. Verizon has not specified what enhancements and bug fixes the update addresses, only noting that it “improves the overall user experience.”
We can hope this actually happen on May 31 as it would be a major step in the right direction for Verizon and also help take heat off of RIM

RIM launches BlackBerry Storm smartphone in Hong Kong
Already available in many regions, the BlackBerry Storm has been announced for Hong Kong this week, though pricing and service plan detail are not revealed yet. The BlackBerry Storm smartphone is expected to be available in Hong Kong from 1O1O, 3 Hong Kong, China Mobile Hong Kong Company Limited, one2free and SmarTone-Vodafone in the second quarter 2009.

The upcoming BlackBerry 9630 Niagara that we've mentioned yesterday has somehow managed to hit eBay. It's $1995 price tag isn't quite "budget", but how much could you expect to pay for an unreleased handset that should only appear in Q3 this year.

T-Mobile USA and RIM to Offer BlackBerry Curve 8900 in February
T-Mobile USA and Research In Motion (RIM) today announced that T-Mobile will offer its customers the new BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone, the thinnest and lightest full-QWERTY BlackBerry smartphone. The BlackBerry Curve 8900 features built-in GPS and support of location-based services. It also allows easy access to social networking sites and has built-in Wi-Fi® (802.11 b/g) supporting both voice and data.
The new BlackBerry is powered by a 512MHz processor, it also include a 3.2-megapixel camera with image stabilization, a music player, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack and headset, and a hot-swappable microSD/SDHC memory card slot with a 256MB card inserted. Research In Motion (RIM) today announced that the company is working on a new online application storefront and a new on-device application center for managing installation, upgrades, and purchases blackberry applications.
RIM plans to launch the application storefront in March 2009 and BlackBerry application developers can begin submitting their applications and content for inclusion in the storefront in December 2008. The storefront will allow developers to set their own prices for applications and developers will retain 80 percent of the revenue generated from their applications. RIM is working with PayPal to provide consumers with a convenient and trusted way to pay for applications within the new application storefront, right from their BlackBerry smartphone.
RIM is also working with its carrier partners to provide carrier-customized, on-device application centers to help foster after-market application downloads. The BlackBerry application center will allow each carrier to offer a convenient catalog right on the device where a customer can discover and download applications.

First Blackberry Flip Phone Revealed
Research In Motion (RIM) lived up to its plan of launching a flip phone within the year through its very first Blackberry clamshell, the Blackberry Kickstart.What many thought to be just plain rumor and hoax has actually come to life. The Kickstart, launching on T-Mobile, came as a pleasant surprise to consumers who were expecting to see a more design-challenged flip phone. Although not svelte and sexy, it does have that standard look that one can expect from contemporary flip phones.
The Kickstart makes use of a SureType keypad, and has internal and external LCD’s sized 320 x 240 and 160 x 128, respectively. Menu navigation is through TrackBall, and it sports a 2 mega-pixel camera. It lacks 3G, but has Wi-Fi connectivity. The whole package runs on a 4.6 Operating System.
Release date for the Blackberry Kickstart will be anywhere from September to end of the year.
