The LG Prada could be considered a wannabe competitor for the iPhone. Smarter than a regular (LG) phone but not even close to the iPhone. And as Apple prepares for 3G and more it's only logical that LG wants and has to keep up.

Apparently LG has a successor for Prada, the Prada II, supposed to be launched in late Q4 2008, and from the info that leaked so far it will be worth considering.

Samsung makes us another surprise by announcing a new Dual SIM cell phone named Samsung D780 Duos, an elegant model with almost the same features as the previous Dual SIM released on the market by the same company, the D880 Duos, but with a less-impressive camera.

If Samsung D880 Duos has a 3.15MP camera, the new D780 Duos comes with just 2MP but I say it’s enough to take some nice pictures while on the go. Cell Phones are not as advanced as digital cameras anyway.
With a 2MP camera, an enhanced design, smaller display size f 2.1 inches compared with the 2.3 inches of the previous model, no EDGE support, a stereo FM radio and mobile printing instead of TV-Out, the D780 Duos has the most important elements of a today cell phone and will be available next month at half price compared with the D880 Duos, meaning a suggested retail price estimated at around $300.

CTIA Wireless 2008 trade show hosts the presentation of a new Kyocera cell phones line with support for AWS frequency bands and sporting stylish designs.
All look cool to me but I will start with the Kyocera Neo E1100 because it inspires me elegance and a rare look with this brilliant light-pipe on the exterior which comes to life when someone calls or sends a message.

This cell phone has a hidden OLED caller-ID display and a large 2.2-inch QVGA display, as well as Bluetooth, voice recognition, a built-in 1.3MP camera, Instant Messaging, MP3 player, cool screen savers, wallpapers for personalization, BREW 3.1.5, Internet browsing, and email.

Next comes the Kyocera Mako S4000, a beautiful clamshell showing a color external display, a large keypad, the 1.8-inch main display, and support for Bluetooth, WAP 2.0 and BREW 3.1.5.

You can use it also for pictures as it is equipped with a built-in 1.3MP camera.

Kyocera Adreno S2400 clamshell cell phone is designed to look kinda retro with its tactile finish and the curved edges in high-contrast colors.
The keyboard is large as the 1.8-inch main display for easy messaging.
Other features include MP3 player and external caller ID display.

All are affordable mobile phones that will be released in Q3 this year to support 800 MHz, 1900 MHz, 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz frequency bands.
Kyocera also announced that it has finalized the acquisition of Sanyo mobile phone division.

“This is a milestone day for Kyocera in the mobile phone business,” declared Dave Carey, vice president and general manager of KWC’s Consumer Products Group. “Our new CDMA handsets mark another step in the development of our core CDMA business, while our expansion into the GSM market significantly broadens our global market opportunities and the Sanyo acquisition gives us unprecedented new economies of scale and depth of resources. We’re making a very clear statement today that Kyocera is committed to long-term growth and success in this industry.”

Social.FM will be coming to your cellphone; similar to Last.FM, in that it offers a streaming genre-specific radio service, Social.FM also gives access to a user’s own digital music collection and a social network with buddy-list music playback. Available for Symbian and Windows Mobile handsets, the service requires a 3G or WiFi connection.

HandMark has contracts with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Orange and Telus in the US, Canada, UK, Austria, Germany and Netherlands; it will be preinstalled on handsets as well as released as an over-the-air download. The first releases should be seen within the next quarter.

The NEC Flask which will be released sometime in 2008, it is powered by a liquid fuel cell that disappears as power is drained away.

The handset features a touchscreen display and what appears to be valve to potentially recharge the handset once the fuel has all been used.There are no other details as of now or even how they plan on refilling the fuel, just these pics from the NEC’s Website which feature very hot colors(special for women?).

Gplus GP810Here is the latest phone from Gplus, the GP810. Gplus is a pretty common name in Taiwan releasing many phones. This time it's a slider phone and features 260K color QVGA screen, 3 mega pixel AF camera, microSD support, measures 98x49x14.5 mm and weighs 77 grams. It also has a nice brushed metal look.

Why hello hello Mr. M800, thanks for officially joining the QWERTY party. Hot on the heels of their X800 launch comes the keyboard totin' M800 sharing most of the same goodies included that 2.8-inch, 480 x 640 (VGA!) touchscreen. If you love WinMo 6 Professional powered by a 500MHz Samsung S3C2442 CPU and riding atop quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, tri-band UMTS/HSDPA data, SiRF Star III GPS, WiFi b/g, Blutooth 2.0+EDR, and a 2 megapixel camera then this is about as good as it gets. Someday, as no price or ship date is mentioned, although it's listed on Expansys for $750 unlocked. A few more shots after the break.
