Well, Samsung is apparently working on bringing a couple more reasonably priced DuoS handsets to market. Smape has it from Samsung’s Russian head, Yoonsoo Kim, that Samsung plans to bring the Samsung P240 DuoS handset to market later this year. The new DuoS handset retains the sought-after dual-SIM capability and offers Bluetooth 2.0, 2 megapixel camera, microSD card slot, FM radio with RDS, 2-inch display, and mpeg4 player - all packed in a slim 115.1×48.6×15.7 mm package powered by a Philips PNX5230+OM6357 chipset and a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900Mhz) radio.
The Samsung P240 DuoS will be offered at a more palatable 270 EUR (about $416 USD) later this year. Kim also mentioned that a Windows Mobile powered DuoS handset is also in the pipeline for later this year. And, Symbian owners might also get some DuoS-love, but not in time to make the 2009 New Year’s party.
