Vertu Creates Unique Homage for Parisan Jewellery house Boucheron
Vertu has announced an unique homage to the renowned Parisan Jewellery house Boucheron in celebration of its 150th Anniversary. Every one of the gold components on this exceptional mobile phone has been painstakingly crafted from individual solid gold ingots taking over 1000 man hours to cut to shape, with over 700 man hours of hand polishing to follow and a further 500 hours to hand build.
The design intricacy of the sapphire crystal keypad with its concave design and 400 points on its surface provided the toughest of challenges for the most skilled of craftsmen as it strays from the typical flat surface used with such a precious material.
In keeping with Vertu’s unequalled level of quality, the Vertu Boucheron 150 is housed in a bespoke hand made wooden case made from Noce Pedullo, a special part of the walnut tree, and produced by Reuge, the market leading Swiss makers of artisan music boxes. Inside the box sits an exquisite custom-built brass music drum which plays the signature Vertu sandpiper ringtone upon its opening.
Frank Nuovo, Vertu Principal Designersays; “The essence of the single edition Vertu Boucheron 150 was to create something unique with signals of both brands. Using the Vertu Signature platform, but taking it away from the core design and creating a visibly stunning statement that breaks all expectations of mobile phone design, resulting in a true piece of sculpture. The constantly changing angled surfaces allow a cut stone appearance, inspired by the clearly faceted stones which are a significant part of Boucheron’s core craft. The recognisable Vertu V shape has seemingly morphed into random proportioned patterns and directions of the three sided surfaces creating a perfect blend of Vertu and Boucheron elements. The challenge was to gain visual sparkle not from precious stones but instead through pure form and line achieved with precious faceted metal”
The one-off Vertu Boucheron 150 will be on display for prospective buyers at the recently launched Vertu store at 38 Old Bond Street in London from November 19th and for a limited period of time only, before a showcase tour at Vertu stores in Paris, Milan and Tokyo.

New Vertu Constellation Rococo Edition
Got plenty of bank account balance to use? Vertu has released the new Vertu Constellation Rococo Edition to celebrate its tenth anniversary.

“the Rococo collection was inspired by the eighteenth century French art, fashion and interior design movement by the same name. The collection features intricate flower patterns embroidered into the leather on the back of the phone which brings to life the hallmark Vertu ‘V’.”

Vertu Coloured Diamonds
Vertu adds more color to its Signature Diamond Collection luxury cell phones line and offers two new design options: Signature Rose Gold Pink Diamonds and Signature Rose Gold Pink Sapphires.
Starting with the idea of haute joaillerie and Grand Complication timepieces, Vertu created two more unique designed cell phones for luxury lovers.
The news consists of the addition of 18 Carat Rose Gold, pink diamonds, pink sapphires and rubies.
“Signature is a very special collection for Vertu,” says Chris Harris, Global Marketing Director. “It was our first handset and as such is where we continually strive to achieve the highest possible standards of design, craftsmanship and exclusivity. These two new additions, which include very rare gems such as pink diamonds and sapphires, are fitting additions to this iconic range”.
From the press release, Vertu Signature Rose Gold Pink Diamonds edition comes with 923 precious stones with an average of 7.2 carats on each phone.According to the company, the pink diamonds mounted on the cell phone’s casing are very rare and can be found only in the Argyle mine in Australia.
Vertu Signature Rose Gold Pink Sapphires model has 385 stones of unique sizes and shapes, with an average of 2.1 carats on each phone.

Vertu launches 10th anniversary Constellation Monogram Collection mobile handsets
2008 marks the 10th anniversary of Vertu and to mark the occasion they have released a special collection of monogrammed Constellations.The collection will feature very special and very luxuriant fine grain leather which will be graced by the Vertu V monogram which interestingly enough is engraved in a four-hour long process and the whole hide is finished with a special protective layer in the end.
The limited edition cell phone collection will be offered in five attractive variants and customers will be able to choose between Pewter, Green, Red, Skye Blue or Cerise colored leathers when the collection hits stores on April 1st.
