Bharti Airtel launches the HTC Magic – India’s first Android phone
HTC Magic has become India’s first Android phone, as HTC and Bharti Airtel announced its upcoming availability in the world’s second largest mobile market.
The Indian Magic comes in an interesting red/black color version.
Other than that, its features are similar to the ones of the original Magic, including: Android 1.5 OS, 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen display, G-sensor, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, web browser, email and a 3.2 autofocus camera with video recording.
Customers will be able to find the HTC Magic at Airtel Relationship Centres and authorised HTC resellers in 17 important Indian towns.
The retail price of HTC Magic is of 29,900 ($616). Airtel’s subscribers who buy the smartphone will be provided with 100MB/month of free data download, for 6 months.
HTC Magic was recently announced in the US too, branded as T-Mobile MyTouch 3G, and it will be introduced soon in many other markets around the world. So it’s no wonder that HTC plans to sell the smartphone in 1 million units by the end of the summer.

HTC Magic in Italy from TIM
Apparently, the Android-powered HTC Magic might soon be available via the Italian carrier TIM. It is already featured on the company’s website and will be going for 449 Euro, most likely on May 4th. On May 5th the handset will be released on Vodafone.
HTC Magic aka T-Mobile G2 Got FCC Approved
Announced during the Mobile World Congress last month, the HTC Magic has been found approved by the FCC with T-Mobile branding. There isn’t an official name yet for T-Mobile but it would mostly use the T-Mobile G2. The HTC Magic has a 3.2″ QVGA touch screen display and features a trackball and navigational buttons for quick, easy access. The full touch screen does not have a physical QWERTY keyboard. Instead, it will have a on-screen soft keyboard for all the text input.

Vodafone Confirmes HTC Magic Launch Date
Without a release date in previous announcement, Vodafone UK has put up an expected release date on its website, which will be available in April next month. The HTC Magic has a 3.2″ QVGA touch screen display and features a trackball and navigational buttons for quick, easy access. The HTC Magic includes a variety of email options such as Google Mail, POP3 and IMAP as well as Google Talk for instant messaging.
