TELUS brings Canadians the BlackBerry Storm smartphone

Starting today, TELUS is offering the BlackBerry Storm 9530 smartphone from Research In Motion (RIM) at select TELUS stores across Canada. To celebrate, TELUS customers who buy the BlackBerry Storm smartphone will receive the gift of music this holiday season with a limited-time offer of exclusive pre-loaded songs and music videos from some of Canada’s artists such as Stars, Broken Social Scene, The Stills, Constantines, Kevin Drew, Jason Collett and Brendan Canning. The songs and videos will come on an eight gigabyte microSDHC memory card.
The BlackBerry Storm smartphone will be available at select TELUS stores across Canada in limited quantity starting today, with availability in additional TELUS stores in January.

* Built-in GPS and mapping software, for maps, step-by-step directions and local searches
* 1GB of internal memory and an expandable microSD/SDHC memory card slot that supports cards up to 16 GB
* Supports popular instant messaging services, plus easy, integrated access to Facebook and MySpace
* GSM roaming support when traveling outside of Canada and the U.S. (Quad Band EDGE/GPRS/GSM [850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz] and UMTS/HSPA [2100 MHz])
* Removable/rechargeable battery, offering 6 hours of talk time and 15 days (360 hours) in standby mode
* High-speed USB data transfer to quickly transfer documents, precious photos and videos, or the latest songs
* Bluetooth 2.0 support for accessories such as wireless stereo headsets and hands-free car kits
The BlackBerry Storm 9530 smartphone is available from TELUS for as little as $249.99 on a three-year contract or $599.99 without a contract.
