BenQ E81 Review

BenQ E81 ReviewBenQ Mobile has banged the market with the launch of its three new models E71, E81 and SL91. E71 though is a music phone that has a shiny casing where the fingerprints are invisible. The next model E81 is an extremely small phone with performance. Last but not the least, is SL91 where BenQ Mobile incorporated lots of features in an impressive design, which includes 3G support and 3.2-megapixel camera with auto focus. Here we will E81, which fails to match the claims by the manufacture.
Claims made by the manufacturer is that the E81 model is an extremely small phone but with an extreme performance. However, the company’s tall claims at times lie flat and this case is no different. E81 has an attractive rounded design with a well-balanced feature set, placed within the range of middle class phones. The phone has dimensions of 100 x 47 x 17 mm which is something very usual and apart from the 3G support the phone doesn’t impress with anything special.
E81is also tri-band GSM. Though the phone offers data transfers by GPRS, the phone lacks EDGE technology. The display has a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, which is not much impressive. The phone is a quality active TFT one capable of 262K colors. It has a 1.3-megapixel-camera lens and a microSD memory card slot. The phone itself has only 5 MB internal memory. This 3G phone has no video call camera on the front side. Video calls can only be possible using the camera on the phone’s back cover.
Other functions that this phone has are MP3 player, e-mail client, phonebook and an organizer with synchronization options, video player, Java games and other standard functions. The phone can be connected to a computer with the help of an USB cable (not a part of the package) or via Bluetooth.
The colour in which BenQ-Siemens E81 is available is black color and will subsequently be launched in other colour variants. It has been launched for European markets in early September and the success of it remains to be seen.
