SoftBank 3G Base Stations Exceed 46 Thousand

SOFTBANK MOBILE Corp. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Masayoshi Son, hereafter “SOFTBANK MOBILE”) announced the following concerning the 3G network enhancement, which is one of the commitments made upon the SOFTBANK Group’s entry into the mobile communications business. As of today, August 1, 2007 (Wed.), 46 thousand 3G base stations, which was the number strived towards during the first half of this fiscal year, are in service.
Compared to the number of 3G base stations in service as of the end of March 2006, which slightly exceeded 21 thousand, it has more than doubled in a 16 month period.
SOFTBANK MOBILE will further strive to enhance its network in order to satisfy its customers.
