HTC Snap introduced, comes to US as S522

HTC today debuted its newest QWERTY smartphone, the HTC Snap featuring a slim 12mm body. The HTC Snap is using a huge 1500mAh battery, allowing it to be used for 8 and a half hours of continuous talk time. The full QWERTY keyboard is ergonomically designed with extra-large domed keys and responsive tactile feedback to make typing emails and text messages fast, accurate and comfortable.
Powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM 7225 CPU, the smartphone has a 2 megapixel camera and also comes with built in 256MB ROM, 192MB RAM, GPS/AGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 2.4-inch display screen (320 x 240 pixels). A microSDHC card slot is available for more storage space.
The HTC Snap will be available with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. It is expected to be available in select channels during the second quarter of 2009, rolling out in markets around the world throughout the second half of the year. Additionally, an unlocked version supporting HSDPA at 850/1900MHz for the US market will be made available under the name HTC S522 during the summer.
