SAN BRUNO, Calif.-- Devicescape Software today announced that it has added support for Nokia Nseries and Eseries phones, which are based on the world’s leading S60 smartphone platform. With this support, Devicescape continues to expand access to its technology and can now make Wi-Fi access easy for millions of Nokia device users. With Devicescape, Nokia Nseries and Eseries device users can automatically connect to Wi-Fi hotspots and municipal networks as well as roam freely between Wi-Fi networks.

S60 software, built on the Symbian operating system is the world's leading smartphone software. The S60 platform was developed by Nokia and is licensed by some of the industry's top mobile device manufacturers. The Nokia Eseries consists of business-oriented smartphones with an emphasis on support for corporate email. The Nseries is a product family designed for always-on access to streamed or downloaded information and entertainment regardless of location. According to Nokia, over 100 million S60 phones have shipped.

“Devicescape continues to add support for the world’s leading devices and operating systems in order to make the wireless experience easy for consumers and increase network usage potential for operators,” said Bill McIntosh, VP of Marketing for Devicescape. “We’re excited to offer Devicescape to millions of Nokia device users globally so they can enjoy easy access to Internet services and applications on the go.”

Devicescape is free to consumers and the software is available for popular devices at the Devicescape web site: www.devicescape.com. Currently, Devicescape works at hundreds of thousands of hotspots worldwide by supporting more than 100 public networks including the largest carriers in the world such as T-Mobile, BT and NTT; municipal networks such as Google WiFi; universities such as UC Berkeley; and the FON community. In addition to the Nseries and Eseries devices, the Devicescape service supports Mac OS X, PCs with Windows XP and Vista, Windows Mobile 5 & 6 Smartphones, the Nokia N800 and 770 web tablets and the Linksys WIP 300 VoIP phone—with many more planned.
