In expanding its market, Apple Inc. also included India in the list of 70 countries where they recently made a deal. Vodafone will be the carrier of the 3G iPhone in the country. And now that June is almost over, Vodafone in India already started pre-registering the customers who will be buying the hottest smartphone currently. Vodafone promised that the 3G iPhone will soon be available. However, they do not have an official statement as to when the second-generation iPhone will be available to the customers.

The government of India still has to issue the final guidelines regarding the auction of 3G spectrum as well as license in the country. One of the main issues that keeps the final decision on hold is whether the foreign companies will be able to bid for the 3G license or not.

According to the advertisement found in The Times of India and the advertisement that can be found on Vodafone’s website, it clearly stated that they are now offering pre-registration for those who are interested in buying the 3G iPhone in India. However, the company also mentioned that the device, offered by the Vodafone, will only work with 2G networks as of the moment. Therefore, some of the features may not be applicable in India.
